Mary

Mary is one of our RVTs! Mary graduated from Indiana University in 2007 with her Master’s in Applied Health Science and worked in public health and clinical research. After working in areas associated with ‘human health’ she decided to focus on ‘animal health’ and became a Registered Veterinary Technician. Mary graduated from (IBC) Vet Tech Institute Indianapolis and joined our team in 2013! One of her favorite things about veterinary medicine is how it is constantly evolving. One of her favorite parts of working at the hospital is utilizing the continuous developments in veterinary medicine to implement policies and procedures that work toward improving patient care or experience and strengthening our team’s nursing skills. Mary is a member of the Indiana Veterinary Technician Association, has a certificate from the American Association of Feline Practitioners as Cat Friendly Professional, and has served on the Monroe County Humane Association’s Board of Directors for six years.

She currently lives in Bloomington with her husband, Patrick, and their 2 cats and 3 dogs: Cyrus J. Rotten, a handsome, senior gentleman; Sayid, a beautiful Havana Brown Mix; Stanley, a black and white Pit Bull Mix, who is as stubborn as he is sweet; Dolores, a beautiful blue and white Pit Bull Mix who loves to be on the lookout for and bark at wildlife and passersby; and lastly, Susie E. Benes, a funny, squat blue brindle Pit Bull mix. When Mary is not at the hospital she enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, running, reading, sailing at 2 knots or less, and antiquing.
