Dr. Shelby’s veterinary interest started early in childhood with connection to a very special dog who she showed in 4-H for many years. Through the joys, challenges and camaraderie of training and exhibiting her dog, she felt her life irrevocably improved. Veterinary medicine provided an opportunity to support these invaluable human-animal bonds for the world around her and to hopefully make the world a better place for it. Graduating from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017, she began practice as a DVM. 

Dr. Shelby’s special interests include small animal medicine, pain management, geriatric care and dentistry. She is fear-free certified and takes pride in handling patients with respect to their mental and social well-being. It is her goal to support long, healthy pet lives and to help pet owners navigate potentially complex diagnoses with clarity and confidence. 

Each day, Dr. Shelby looks forward to building relationships with pets and owners and growing in leadership and compassion with the team at College Mall Veterinary Hospital. 

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Shelby enjoys training and showing her Dalmatian, Simone, hiking and following the television series Survivor.
